The why

The beauty industry is a huge growth area in the North of England, worth millions of pounds. Yet traditionally events for both consumers and industry have been focused predominately in the south, with any northern offering focused solely on the north west, i.e. Manchester.

There is no specific consumer event that takes place in the Yorkshire region of the country to celebrate the diversity, interest, innovation and passion for the beauty and skincare sector - until now!

Why YORKSHIRE?

We love Yorkshire and are proud of our heritage, talent and passion when it comes to all things beauty. We know there is so much to be said, discussed, challenged and cheered - and This is Yorkshire Beauty is all about giving the people of Yorkshire the visibility and voice they deserve.

This is about representing the unrepresented in beauty.

Meet the founder

Dr. Lubna Khan-Salim

Inspired from a visit to Dubai, Dr. Lubna Khan-Salim, a cosmetic surgeon and skin doctor, returned to her Selby based clinic with the desire to create a flagship event on beauty and skincare that would take place in her home county of Yorkshire. The first of its kind festival would have a mission to bring to the fore topics and issues that amplify conversations and education around beauty and skincare when it comes to diversity, sustainability and representation.

Dr Lubna is a passionate advocate of evidence based, sustainable and inclusive practices within the health and beauty industry and clients being empowered to be their unapologetic self.

These are key themes that underpin this ground-breaking event.
